Tigre Mashaal-Lively has created a work of installation art inside the Axle Contemporary Mobile Artspace. The mixed-media visual invocation utilizes fine sculpture, natural elements, and salvaged materials to create a post-collapse Afrofuturist shrine to the Black Feminine.
The installation will be oriented as an immersive prayer, beckoning towards a future world in which all Black girls, women, and gender-nonconforming folx are fully safe and empowered.
Raised in Philadelphia and currently residing in New Mexico, Tigre holds a BA from Bennington College and is a Burning Man Honorarium Grant recipient for the interactive sculpture The Solacii. Their work has been exhibited around the globe, from North America to Southeast Asia, and from Europe to Australia.
